HUMAIN – Design, Art, Humanities and Artificial Inteligence
Matějová, Alina ; Kořínek, David (referee) ; Macháček, Mikuláš (advisor)
Artificial intelligence is a symptom of the future of the 1980s, a technological phenomenon esoterized by millions of lines of code, a spirit in a machine, an artist of generative design, a scarecrow fictionalizing dystopian surrealism. Artificial intelligence has been talked about for a long time, in various fields from information and communication technologies through sociology and political science to design and art. Czech scientific fetishism guarding the boundaries of disciplines, showing what we are and what the others are, where designers have nothing to say about the work of anthropologists and not at all programmers, who in turn can never know anything about philosophy or microbiology. Ivory towers protruding in the void suspecting those towers at a safe distance. The HUMAIN project and conference seeks to go against this and find common ground and common narratives between design, humanities and art. We are not talking about terminological multiplication, we do not want to bring interdisciplinary leveling. HUMAIN is a platform for finding a common language and establishing cooperation. We do not want William Gibson to write the future, but to reflect artificial intelligence from as many angles as possible and to aim for the greatest possible emancipation of people, robots and the planet.
Teaching History in Times of Climate Crisis What Implications Should Have Contemporary Environmental Crisis on Teaching History at Czech Secondary/Middle Schools?
Černínová, Anna ; Pinkas, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Najbert, Jaroslav (referee)
This thesis responds to the need to update education due to the urgency of current environmental problems and it tries to relate it to the school subject of history. The goal of this thesis is to answer at least partially how history could or should adapt to the ongoing climate crisis so that students have a better chance to successfully face its challenges. For such a task, it was first necessary to map out what concepts and approaches are used in Czechia and abroad to approach climate change in the context of education. I analyzed the environmental education in the RVP ZV (the curriculum for primary schools) and the publication Klima se mění - a co my? (Climate is changing - and what about us?) by Petr Daniš et al. Other possible approaches also resulted from the analysis of some foreign curricula - namely from Finland and New Jersey. Finally, I expanded the possible implications for history lessons thanks to the analysis of some other professional publications of foreign provenance. These were, for example, works related to transformative education or environmental history. Following on from these analyses, I tried to question in more detail some figures of modern discourse, which seem somehow dysfunctional due to the environmental crisis. In this way, I approached the problematic perception of...
«Tu ne perds pas le nords», Never give up hope
Ručka, Svatopluk ; Veselá, Lenka (referee) ; Ondrík, Jozef (advisor)
The title of the master's thesis serves as an optimistic reflection of the author's life experience as a graphic designer in the fashion industry. From this perspective, it addresses the absence of interdisciplinary collaboration and explores the position of the current division of design. The thesis draws on contemporary democratization processes in the designer's discourse and, through research, creates both a subjective and a general vision of the future that reflects societal experience.
Epigraphica & Sepulcralia 12. Forum of epigraphical and sepulchral studies. The Proceedings of the 20th International Sessions on the Issue of Sepulchral Monuments, Prague 2-3 November 2021
Roháček, Jiří
The proceedings of the 20th international sessions on the issue of sepulchral monuments, which took place in Prague on 2–3 November 2021. These regular conferences, organized since 2000 by the Institute of Art History, Czech Academy of Sciences, are focused on sepulchral monuments as material artefacts of sepulchral culture and as works of art in the traditional sense of the word, with a factual or methodological relation to the Central European issues. However, they do not avoid themes, that more widely explain the context, in which these monuments were created and were functionally applied. The emphasis is placed on the nature of interdisciplinary expert meetings. Through their focus and periodicity, they are unique in a pan-European context. The series Epigraphica & Sepulcralia has been the publication forum of these sessions since 2005. The conference proceedings contain a total of eighteen papers. In addition to Czech and Moravian topics, traditionally, a significant share of the conference is devoted to foreign issues, specifically Polish and Slovak, and indirectly to other regions of Central Europe. The significant share of papers dealing with the reflection of sepulchral and epigraphic monuments in written sources, which allow a slightly different view of the issue, is highly positive.
Epigraphica & Sepulcralia 11. Forum of epigraphical and sepulchral studies. The Proceedings of the 18th and 19th International Sessions on the Issue of Sepulchral monuments, Prague on 6-7 November 2019 and remotedly on 12-13 November 2020
Roháček, Jiří
The proceedings of the 18th and 19th international sessions on the issue of sepulchral monuments, which took place in Prague on 6 – 7 November 2019 and online on Zoom (due to the coronavirus epidemic) 12 – 13 November 2020. Since the 15th session in 2016, however, it has also started to take note of Jewish sepulchral monuments and, given the topicality of the topic, also Muslim ones, but still with a close connection to Central European issues. Through their focus and periodicity, they are unique in a pan-European context. The series Epigraphica & Sepulcralia has been the publication forum of these sessions since 2005. The conference proceedings bring a total of twenty contributions divided into unequal parts, one of which is devoted to Christian sepulchral monuments and the other to Jewish sepulchral monuments. In addition to Czech and Moravian themes, Slovak, Polish and Hungarian themes traditionally have a significant share.

In the diploma thesis entitled Interdisciplinarity of FLE and history, we present the phenomenon of an interdisciplinarity approach in education. We dedicate to the interdisciplinarity in Czech and French education, especially to the interdisciplinarity od FLE and history. In the diploma thesis, we present the definition of the term « interdisciplinarity » and we characterize and analyze Czech and French educational programs - RVP, ŠVP, Le Socle commun de connaissances et de compétences and programs for the Frech college (Cycle 3 et 4). We dedicate also to the interdisciplinarity of FLE and history in FLE textbooks and in resources available online. We apply the knowledge to the unit, in which we apply the interdisciplinarity nature of FLE and history using the exemple od the Frech revolution of 1789. The objective of our thesis is to present the interdisciplinarity relations of FLE and history, or rather to present and analyze the inclusion od historical topics in FLE teaching, especially in Czech education. We have come to the conclusion that the inclusion of the interdisciplinarity in education is an integral part of Czech and French educational programs, which we can rely on in teaching. The analyzed textbooks include historical topics, especially textbooks of French production. Most often,...

Krátká, M.: My city a century ago [Diploma Thesis] Praha 2014 - Charles University, Faculty of Education, Art Education Department, 135 p. The diploma thesis focuses on cross-curricular connection of two educational areas; The Art and Culture - Art education and "Man and His World". The empirical part consists of an educational project closely linking the curriculum of art education with curriculum of the subject "Man and His World". It focuses on primary education and it's goal is to effectively educate children about the history of the town they live in using interdisciplinary approach. The educational project is based on theoretical findings stated in the theoretical part of the diploma thesis. It is also set to the context of contemporary art but in comparison to modern art it seems to be based more traditionally. Key words: Interdisciplinarity, Art Education, school subject, educational domain, Project-Based Learning, site, memory of the site, community, Site-specific art.
